Alberto Saucedo
In my work there are no distinctions between the past, present, and future. The diversity of my work reveals a profound identity with Mexican roots, and my art implies a communion with old traditions, bringing back the union of spirit and earth. I am an international, but inside this international there is a Mexican national that I can't hide. That is why I am constantly going back to the roots of Mexican art. I like to see my sculptures as a separate oeuvre in which some of my formal preoccupations are investigated and treated in bronze, marble, or other media. For me roundness, sensuality, and a constant play with spaces and three-dimensional form are most important.
