Con mucha manteca

The heart in the hand is like the heart on the sleeve. It also is from Hindu, Buddhist and Catholic religious symbols. I will do self-portraits when I'm depressed, just to make fun of myself and to thumb my nose at everyone else I think are being too high and mighty. I kind of remember doing the yellow background and thinking later that I don't like yellow. I think that's where the manteca comes from, it reminded me of butter. I'm trying to save the self-portraits, and I keep trying to make them as bad as possible. At some point I hope to have at least 50 of them and do an exhibit. It should keep people laughing.
