Stand behind the lines. Look into the camera, ready, snap, and flash!

At one point or another, we've all gone through the process of documentation.

One aspect of my work is interested in recording this process. Through painting I'm able to render individuals anonymous and selectively subtract information from their identities. I group the subjects in a site of neutrality, in a candy-coated field of institutional color. When lined up, these portraits become the same, avoiding any reference to their individuality.

I strive for perfection in the construction of the self.
