As
part of a negotiated agreement with provisional president Adolfo de la Huerta,
General Francisco Villa and 651 of his men including several generals and other
officers surrender to the Mexican government. Villa retires to private life
on the 25,000-acre Hacienda de Canutillo, Durango, just across the border from
Parral, Chihuahua, purchased for him by the Mexican government. The surrender
package includes a pension and the right to keep a 50-man security escort drawn
from his dorados. |
