A self-taught artist born in Austin, Texas, José Treviño creates in a variety of media, including oil, watercoor, acrylic, wood, clay and stone. For 18 years he worked as a part-time instructor for the Fine Arts Department of Austin Comunity College. In 1976, he began illustrating for the Region XII Bilingual Program, as well as assisting in the development of a children's curriculum. He has exhiited in Texas, California, and Mexico.
