John Salgado
Having a life long interest in the arts, I am a self-taught sculptor. My work consists of assemblage constructions utilizing wooden boxes that contain both new and found objects that I use to interpret cuentos, dreams and myths. In these "cajitas" I attempt to create relationships amongst previously unrelated objects, offering the viewer an opportunity to re-see or re-think an idea. Explanations are up to the viewer, each person sees something different. I feel there is a personal relationship created between my art and the viewer because it appeals to their individual memories and personal life experiences.
