José Garza

Born in San Antonio, TX, spent a lot of time in Detroit, MI, located now in Albuquerque, NM. My work will take whatever is necessary for the idea to be developed. These days I am doing a lot of watercolor, construction, mixed media, pen and ink, posters. The two main themes that concern my work are community activism and cultural expression of indigenous tradition. I belong to the Coahuila and Xikano ways of life and of perceiving the real world. The indigenous hoop has indeed not been broken. To survive I do handmade all purpose greeting cards in watercolor, collage, drawings, and other mediums to be used the year around. If you are looking for a unique gift for someone special I can provide that. Each card runs from $6.00 to $8.00. Aztatl Tlaquetzqui (alias, José Garza)
